Ok
So SS1600 is Australia Specific ride.
I'll do the ANZAC ride as it will be my first just to get my IBA number.
I think everything is ready to go.
I'll let you know how I go Wednesday.
If I get one of the stops wrong at least I can apply for the SS1600?
Thanks Heaps

The SS1600K is not an Australian specific ride and may be riden in most countries around the world.
best wishes with your ride.

SS1600K is the metric ride as per IBA website (basically, outside the US).
Not sure how you'd get a stop wrong but.... yes, if you cover the 1610km inside 24 hours and have the required evidence (DBRs photographed with odometer reading at the stops) you should still be able to apply for the SS1600K (I've got a mate doing a SS1600K but not the ANZAC Day ride who I am playing 'catch-up' on the day.... the intention is to catch him by nightfall).

If you are doing the ANZAC Day ride, it has to commence with or finish with the Dawn Service. Your 24 hour clock starts with your DBR (dated business receipt) so doesn't include the Dawn Service duration.

Good luck - If you see two harleys and a 150cc scooter out of the roads in Vic/ACT after dark - that will probably be us.

Nothing quite like last minute planning for a ride of somewhere around 18 to 22hrs duration. Hopey, with all sincere respect for any ANZAC day tributes, I would suggest you just shoot for the plain garden variety SS1600klm for your very first qualifying IBA ride. There are enough requirements for a "new" rider to manage without the added complexity of a themed ride. Just a thought. Best wishes for whatever you choose mate!

And guessing from Seymour back to ACT will be dark run

Yes, you could lodge the documentation for an SS1600. The SS1600 is NOT an Australian specific ride. It is also ridden in country that uses the metric system.
Be aware that even though your ODO may show a bit over 1610km, the assessors use SPOT, GPS and Google Maps to decide what distance you really did. All ODOs over-read, since they are driven off the speedo which over-reads by design (ADRs). That's why we advise you do 1650 plus. That's only 2.5%, and speedos can be 3% over.

Thanks again to the group for your shared wisdom. ANZAC Day ride ridden adding another new member to the ranks - now finalising submission. Ride report to follow.

On to the next challenge.... and the next question.... Is it possible to do one ride for two certifications?

Let me explain - I'm looking at the "4 States With A Twist" in SS1600K format. Now, if that ride was done on a Solstice or Equinox date, could the one ride be submitted for certification for both having mutually satisfied the requirements of both themed rides or would one of the rides need to be a BB2500K to meet the 'nesting requirements'?

Congratulations on the ANZAC Day ride Cameron.

As for the next challenge you mention: the "4 States with a Twist" ride. In my opinion it is the second lamest ride in the LD universe. I'm not sure which is the lamest, but someone has probably come up with something worse.

The research for this ride was lazy, the rationale worse and for efs sake try harder than Skidoo and find some more 'States' to twist. You are in Sydney? Add Wyoming and Maryland on your way to Kentucky and Texas and visit Virginia while you are up that way. There are probably others, but I only had 3 minutes spare.

I do not see the point of this ride.

Completed First Iron Butt Ride, yeah Baby

Thank you ACTCAPO for letting me share your ride was awesome,

Sun at your back the whole trip
Good mix of back roses that I have not been on
And the run up the freeway home at the end of the trip

Well thought out.

Notes:
Wear heated vest so to adjust the Temperature on the move so to not waste time changing
Take bag for a little more storage of electronic gear
Better receipt holder
run in your new ear mould before you have them in there for over 6 hours at a time
Other than that got it sorted.
Hope this is ok and the right spot to report ( probably not knowing me)

Got the next ride planned for once I’m qualified to do in, when I get back from the States end of June.

Who’s up for a BBK2500 GOLD? get it done just before the CC50 in August

Hopey (so happy)

Now to do the submission, got to look for the page again.

Submitted and got a reply notification, hope its enough.

This line on the app is a bit confusing for me

You can either clip the fee schedule from your particular ride. Please send your remittance fee through paypal to [email protected] and ATTACH A COPY OF THEIR CONFIRMATION to this email. PLEASE NOTE: IN ORDER TO PURCHASE IRON BUTT ITEMS, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR RIDE CERTIFIED (if not there would be no value for the pins and patches!):

SO I got to have a ride certification before I can pay and then attach it to this email but I have to send this email to get my certificate to pay?
Chicken or the egg thing
Or am I reading it all wrong?

Hopey
