Good spot there. I sort of remember seeing this a long time back. Might have just slipped through the cracks maybe.
Looks like it would be fun to do.

I saw it referenced in the discussions here (thankfully with a link)... which got me pondering (and potentially wasting an hour or so mapping it out....)

Hey @OX-34 - was it rated an 'insanity' ride or did you just happen to have it titled that way? (looking at your certificate...)
Cameron, I submitted the TTTT as a SS3000K/48. I took a bit over 42 hours for the 3072km route I rode.

TJ, Howard and I had a couple of emails back and forth around that time. A SS1600K linking just the towns themselves was considered. I rode 2070km between Nimmitabel and Glen Innes in a bit over 30 hours. Even starting fresh at Nimmitabel I don't think I could have shaved 6 hours off my time to get that section of the ride under 24 hours, but others may.

The "Australian Top Ten Towns Tour" was being proposed as an Australian Specific Ride but nothing came of it. Too much or too little red wine.......

@OX-34 - Well it is an interesting ride (in particular to plan). I'll file the ride plan away for a suitable point of time in the future. I wonder what other rides (treasures) exist hidden in the depths of the IBA website.... I guess there could be a BB2500K (possibly Silver) in there (based on your ride stats).

On my ride stats?

BB2500K standard there are heaps.
BB2500K GOLD/BB1500M Gold, I have a few. Tenere, maybe 5 on FJRs, Blackbird, Ninja 300, TMax scooter.....
BB2500K Silver? I think only one my Valkyrie the first time I owned it.

@OX-34 - I think you may have misunderstood my point about the ride stats. I was simply making reference to your doing 2070km in ~30hrs, so it looked like there could be a doable 'BB2500K version' of the ride (if you didn't need to start and stop from the same location).

Anyway, filed away for the future :) Got some more riding to do before attempting this one.

I have a question about the CC rides.

In particular the Northern CC which in the rules states: from Broome to Bowen.

My question is .... can this be completed in reverse? Ie Bowen to Broome.

I've had a read of the rules and scanned the forum bit I have (legitimately) dyslexia so may have missed the important paragraph or sentence.

Cheers

Can't see why not as it would be valid if you were doing a 100CCC

Spanner, you can start from either end so Bowen to Broome would be fine.

Thanks all.

I was pretty sure there was no issue.

I was just concerned as there is a lot of 'to-and-fro' when discussing the particulars of the rules of various rides ..... and I agree with following rules ..... in the main. :p

I just did not want to succumb to a 'rules is rules ' situation as the description was specific in leaving Broome.

Cheers.

Just a little update on "states with ä twist"

The Kentucky Store has been on the market for some time without much interest ...probably because of the absurd figure to be blunt.

There is a push to set up a co op and that group is now posting shares to buy into this establishment.
It will stuff the village if the shop goes that goes without saying.
Its the post office. Some service NSW aspects
General store and grog shop, Meeting place and freight drop off.
The proprietors have over the years employed almost every sprat kid in their first jobs ever and its re homed/stored and otherwise helped people whom have been burned out and all that usual village life stuff.
So if you intend doing a 4 states ride cos you cant add more then maybe get in quick or just get other evidence of your visit.
I believe its only weeks from closing up if they don't get enough involved with the co op concept.
