Spanner, the shirts are ready for production once orders start coming it. We don't have a 'shop' as yet, however items can be initially ordered on the Muster 'Registration form'. Once the Muster has been finalised, we will arrange a process allowing orders to be taken.

Have attached a pic of the shirt with the Australian IBA logo.

Sweet .... I'll wait for the bigger and more flash photos and shop when it becomes a going concern.

Heaps of kudos for what you are all undertaking.

All registered !
Intended route (so far) Brisbane - Toowoomba - Charleville then South = 1680Km. Was thinking about departing after dark to avoid the Sun strike. Should get in around mid arvo ready for beer - kip - beer (in that order).

Documentation response to Gatey:

Do not fill in items 11 & 12. But be very certain that you supply a google map or bing map or mapquest with your route, and that the mileage on the one you submit is at least 1,600 km AND that you get gas receipts at the corners of your route.

More on documentation later.
Howard, have already submitted ride plan and provided answers to 11etc. submitted to [email protected] as per the form, will we be advised if the paperwork is needing clarification or if it is all good?
be nice to know everything is aOK.

I'm having trouble with this preplanning.
I usually jump on the bike, go, turn left or right occasionally, eat when hungry, sleep when tired.
So if my dockets and witnesses along the way don't match the original preplanned route what happens

Hi Ian welcome aboard the new IBA forum.

You've done a handful of FarRides and the FarRally a few years back, but I don't see your name on the current IBA finishers list. If you have completed an IBA ride and had it certified maybe that was very recent?

If you are yet to get your 'IBA number' by completing a ride and having it certified, you'd better get on your bike and get one done . The Inaugural Muster is a members-only event.

"Plan the ride and ride the plan" is a common mantra. Ian the ride is in July. That gives a lot of time to think about where you want to go and then figure out the best way to do it. If you're still up on the Sunshine coast you'll need to find another 550km or so in addition to the google maps shortest run to Parkes. That means corners and planned corners at that. Corners need dockets. If there is no docket opportunity at a corner that may mean that the shop burned down or maybe you never checked if there was a shop?!?!?

As for witnesses you will have no excuse if you don't get your start one of course. If you hit Parkes on time there will be ample opportunity to get a finish witness.

Now if there is flooding or snow or you break down and can't stick to the plan you submitted, but still limp in to Parkes on time with 1610km+ documented then there will be options. Perhaps a standard SS1600 certificate in the mail, perhaps one certified as being to the Muster in the mail, but probably not a Muster one signed and collected on the day, as you won't have completed the ride under the special conditions of the Muster.

TJ, Skidoo or Hagar should chime in here to clarify. They are running the show.

Now leave my negatives aside. Just check your maps and even post up any thoughts you may have on a route for the Muster (or the required first ride) and we will be happy to bounce ideas around.

Ian, I'm not sure what time you are planning to either leave home or arrive in Parkes.................. Some are talking a few minutes after midnight, others talking midday...
Here's an example: Midday Friday Maroochydore - Harlin - Toowoomba - Tenterfield just before dark - Casino - Coffs to Newcastle section a safe run and a bit warmer late into the night (a stop for a nap somewhere along there) - up next morning for 500km westward from Newcastle via the Golden Highway to Parkes by lunchtime Saturday. 1627km

Reliable corner dockets, not a straight run. Animals minimised and fast roads late at night.

Ian, Great to see you here and well done on your recent SS1600k, mate we look forward to catching up at the Muster.

I will add a special thank you to Peter for his responses above and hope others will jump in with some more great advice.

The value of an IBA certificate lies in the meticulous verification of rides, an IBA certificate demonstrates without a doubt that the ride claimed was actually ridden. The process for the Muster is no different, each ride still needs to go through the verification process, hence the requirement to submit your plan at least 2 weeks prior. This allows time for the verification team to do their part. Due to the numbers attending, even at this early stage, it would not be possible to complete the process on the day. By being able to pre submit your plan allows for most of the process (we still need to check your witness documentation, receipts etc.) to be completed prior to the ride allowing time on the day to present certificates. Should you submit your plan and on the day and due to unforeseen circumstance, not be able to ride your plan then the chance of being able to present your certificate on the day are greatly reduced. In this situation the ride that you did complete may need to be resubmitted in the normal manner with the certificate being posted out.

Ta guys, Got the IBA number 64084 a few weeks ago. A January newbie list should be up soon.
're the planning - on the SS1600 I had a witness sign at each stop as well as start/finish to make sure the trip was totally recorded since it was first effort at verification. And probably because it was unplanned, just wandered jn a northerly direction until more than half of the trip.
I'll do the homework and submit as suggested, thanks for the input.

Congratulations on the SS1600 Ian.

With that one successfully tucked away you will be able to confidently settle in to the next one.
