RBLR1000 7th June 2025

One for the suggestion box. Why don't you produce a large self adhesive sticker of the new round symbol (as per the top of the page) that us riders could attach to the bottom part of our screens? It would, a/ raise a bit more money as I'd happily pay a few quid of one; and b/ as long as it's big enough to be seen on an approaching motorbike, give us good reason to give the rider a wave and give us a bit of recognisable camaraderie at the pit stops?

Im in favour of that suggestion :)

I am sorry to say that I will not be contributing to The Royal British Legion again.

It would take way more than we raise every year to pay the salary of the new member of staff they hired to produce their new diversity poppy rainbow metal badge..

My decision is not taken lightly.

I'm with you on that. I May just do the run at the same time and get sponsors and donate to another worthy cause. I'm sure I could get someone to design something FOC for the charity. My daughter is a very good graphic designer who would want to contribute.

I can see why some people may diaagree with some of the things the RBL has done / is doing but I also take the view that they support veterens and know that should I ever need help/support/help then I can turn to them. There are a lot of things that organisations I am involved with do that I may disagree with, but being part of them means I accept I am free to disagree and still support them for the parts I agree with.

The world would be a boring place if we all had the same views after all.

I fully respect others who may decide to not have anything to do with the RBL for various reasons, but I will do the RBLR this year with head held high, my old beret in my pannier, memories in my head for those who are no longer here, and try and raise a little money. Will it all be spent in ways I would like? No, but some will and that is good enough for me.

Entered, paid, and looking forward to it.

Apologies in advance if I’ve missed it , but is there a pre order page/site for a patch etc.

See you all at the start. Lee.

Really looking forward to this year's ride, especially doing north counter clockwise this time, the A1 at 2am was as much fun as poking myself in the eye.

Note to self, do not run out of petrol like a wally and have the police take you to a petrol station :D
